Chase Birth August 20th, 2013

December 10th, 2012: Geoff and I found out we would be having a baby, due in August of 2013!  My pregnancy was fantastic.  During my first trimester I had no morning sickness, only slight fatigue.  The entire pregnancy was overall fantastic.  I continued to work out at the gym until month 8, and then switched to daily walks around Post. During my pregnancy Geoff and I still continued to go to fests, and travel as much as we could.  We traveled to Salzburg Austria, The German Alps, Czech republic Luxembourg, Western Germany (Trier, Bad Durkheim) and Belgium.

We were anxious, but ready as August 9th approached.  Chase's nursery was finally complete.   I went to the doctor's office every other day to check the progress.  The baby was a little too comfortable, and we scheduled an induction for Monday August 19th.

Last Day being pregnant, Monday August 19th

Cathy and Eric arrived August 17th.  We went to a Kirwa fest in Sulzbach-Rosenberg on Sunday. They got to spend half of their vacation in the hospital with me, but we're able to be present for the birth of our first baby. It was absolutely amazing having them both here for the first two weeks.

Our first son was born Tuesday August 20th, 2013 at 5:21 am. He was 9 pounds 8 ounces, and 21 inches long.  I had an amazing midwife, Elizabeth.  She worked with coach Geoff to make sure I was as comfortable as possible. I was induced at    10am Monday morning.  As the day progressed the contractions got progressively stronger and longer. The midwife had to break my water to help the baby move down. It took until midnight for me to be fully dilated. The baby was seriously comfortable still!!!   Dr. Paris came in along with another doctor. With the help of Geoff by my side, Elizabeth pushing down on the top of my belly, and the 2 doctors using the vacuum extractor, the baby was finally born at 5:21.  Overall Labor was 18 hours, and something I will never forget! It is hard to imagine any day before he entered our lives.  We are completely in love and enamored by his every breath!
